New world, New Graphics!

Constructivism inspired wordart & graphics with a raven by hexaflux

Constructivism art has been a growing inspiration for my designs. It’s so much fun gathering new inspiration, and I can’t wait to start implementing my new ideas into my upcoming art and designs!

Originating from Russia, it was began in 1915 by Vladimir Taitlin and Alexander Rodchenko. Abstract and austere, constructivist art aimed to reflect modern industrial society and urban space of the time. The movement rejected decorative stylization in favor of the industrial assemblage of materials. So, you can think of it as the Grunge before Grunge, or even an earlier version of today’s interpretation of Kitsch styles!

Today, you’ll see the essence of Constructivism still floating around in some contemporary styles of art and music, including Punk, Brutalism and Cyberpunk. But I hope to revitalise the old style in a way that hasn’t been done before, where I will be more true to the roots of original Constructivism, but mash it with some other styles to bring a fresh, new look.
